这一句我一个人划分了一下成分，that...episode是that引导的主语从句，intended 谓语，to dazzle me 宾语，what earthly object....comprehension是what引导的主语从句
【我的疑问】
① that从句并没“觉得”一词对应，为何多翻译了一个“觉得”？
② what earthly object 是做 have的宾语吗？我查词典有 have sth in这个短语，我不太了解这个短语用在这里的意思，而且这个短语的介词 in 后面应该不可以再接成分了，可是如何还能接taking me in呢？taking me in又是干什么成分呢？

in comparing me to Dulin为介词in+动名词，为时间状语，在...的过程中。和compliment并没搭配关系。

that从句为suspicion的同位语从句。所以翻译的时候加了觉得二字。intended to dazzle me为过去分词短语，作episode的非限制性定语。what earthly object是have的宾语。in taking me in还是介词in+动名词短语，介词短语作时间状语，介词in 和have并没搭配关系。
看来网友对介词+动名词作状语这种使用方法不太熟知，致使误判，误以为in是和谓语动词搭配的。
动名词可以和介词构成介词短语，在句中作状语。比如：
in doing sth 在做某事的过程中，时间状语
on doing sth 刚一做某事，就...，时间状语
for doing sth 由于/为了做某事，缘由或目的状语
by doing sth 通过做某事，方法状语
