替代词问题

1.Soft sofas are more comfortable than hard ones.

能否改成： Soft sofas are more comfortable than those hard.

2.that those做替代词是否只能替代物体，不可以替代人？ one可以替代人和物？

1. Soft sofas are more comfortable than hard ones.

不能改成： Soft sofas are more comfortable than those hard.

由于 those hard 不符合正确的搭配。形容词 hard 不能放在替代词之后作定语（可以放在复合不定代词之后），假如改用定语从句则太啰嗦：

Soft sofas are more comfortable than those that are hard.（不符合英语简练表达的需要）

2. 第 2 问，those 可以指“物”，也可以指“人”，等于 the people。比如：

Those who are willing to go with me for the task subscribe here.

想同我一块去实行这项任务的人请在这儿签名。

Those who fly too high may come to grief.

野心勃勃的人可能遭惨败。

指示代词 that 可以指“人”。如：That is my brother. 替代词 that 不能。
