你还记得你一个人或父母的「结婚周年龄念」（wedding anniversary）吗？何以「周年龄念日」的英文叫 anniversary 、而「千禧年」称为 millennium1？
英语中用来表达年岁的词语中多半含有 ann 或 enn 两个拉丁字根，两者意义相同，皆表示「年份」、「年岁」（year）之意。明乎此，大家就比较容易理解下列含有这个字根的词语所代表的语意，比如：
