作者介绍凯瑟琳菲力普斯（1631-1664）虽然在当今已经不为人知，但在17世纪的英国诗歌界有肯定的影响和知名度。她和老公詹姆士菲力普斯所打造的诗歌社团友谊协会包含诗人亨利沃恩、杰利米泰勒和作曲家 亨利洛斯。在协会中大家称她为奥琳达。她的早期诗作发表于沃恩在1651年出版的诗集中，她的其它诗歌在她过世后于1667年出版。她的作品多表现出传统的真诚和伤感，诗人亚伯拉罕考利为她作了一首品达式的哀歌，约翰济慈在致雷诺兹的信中抄录了一首她的诗。
