其实，只须多用一点心思，换个察看角度，单纯、琐碎的助理工作一样可以表现出这名申请者在研究生院有关方面的能力。比如，推荐人可以强调他之所以雇用这个人为研究助理，是由于这个助理以前曾做过与他现在的研究范围有关的报告，表现出申请者在这个研究范围已经拥有的入门知识和研究潜力。又以资料搜集工作为例，可以强调这个申请者怎么样善用某些办法，对资料进行系统的剖析整理等。
