在日前政协会议的分组讨论中，委员们踊跃发言，大伙各抒己见，会场氛围十分活跃。国家领导人也分别出席了分组讨论，同大伙共商国事。

昨天（3月4日），国家领导人与政协委员一同参加了政协会议的分组讨论，并呼吁大伙齐心协力应付已经给中国经济导致影响的全球经济危机。

在上面的报道中，panel discussion就是指分组讨论，有时也写作group discussion。在全领会议后，政协会议设立专门的分组讨论。Panel在这里指小组，或者对一组对象进行的典型调查。为了调查了解这个问题，大家会同an advisory^{2 panel of experts（由专家构成的顾问小组）进行了a fact-finding panel（为弄清真相对民众进行的抽样调查）。最后结果将由arbitration panel（仲裁小组）决定。现在大家实行的是assessment panel mechanism5（评委员会机制）。}

除此之外，panel还可以指法庭的陪审团。比如general powers of the panel（陪审团的一般权力）。Your name is down on the panel of jurors.（你的名字已列入陪审团名单）。
