1 an individual 指个人、个体，并不指具体某一个人。do so为动词性替代，这里to do so替代的是to acquire an additional language.
2 名词institute有habit，custom的意思，这里institutional指一个人在特定社会中形成的习惯性的（状况）。即学习第二语言涉及认知、心理和习惯。
